Focus and Scope

The Revista Direito e Sexualidade (RevDirSex), ISSN 2675-3596, is an open-access periodical with a biannual frequency, adopting an online continuous publication system. Linked to the Research Group on Law and Sexuality and the Law School of the Federal University of Bahia, the journal was established in the first semester of 2020 and is dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of scientific knowledge relevant to the interface between Law and the various manifestations of human sexuality, including gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, etc. The journal's mission is to promote the enhancement of legal studies related to human sexuality, serving as a space for constant updating for the legal community interested in the legal aspects that involve sexuality. Its editorial policy is guided by transparency, publicity, gratuity, and speed, respecting national and international guidelines for scientific editing and ethics in manuscript evaluation. RevDirSex invites the submission of articles from Brazilian and foreign authors that contribute to research in various thematic lines, such as body and social control, law and sexuality, genders and feminisms, gender identity and human rights, sexual orientation and the guarantee of fundamental rights, labor relations and sexuality, human reproduction and its ethical and legal implications, and sexual rights, sexuality, and health. Additionally, the periodical is open to receiving works for special calls or thematic dossiers, which are announced in the "News" section. For contributions directed to these special editions, authors are requested to indicate the title of the call in their comments to the editor during the submission process.

Frequency

The publication frequency is biannual, with a number every 6 months:

  • January/June number: publication until the month of June.
  • Number for July/December: publication until the month of December.
