NURSING STUDENTS’ KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICES ABOUT PRESSURE INJURIES

Objective: to analyze the knowledge and practices of nursing students related to the prevention and treatment of pressure injuries. Method: Qualitative study with a descriptive and exploratory approach, the participants were 13 nursing students from a public university in the interior of the state of Bahia. Data analysis was carried out using Bardin Content Analysis. The work was approved by the Research Ethics Committee. Results: From the analysis, 4 categories emerged: Understanding the definition of LPP, Understanding pressure injury prevention measures, Caring for patients with Pressure Injury and Expressing feelings regarding the care of patients with Pressure Injury. Conclusion/Final Considerations: These findings suggest the need to strengthen the theoretical and practical training of students in this crucial area of nursing.
