Abstract

Adenomatoid odontogenic tumor is a relatively uncommon lesion which mainly affects women during the second decade of life. Displays as a site of predilection for the anterior region of the jaw, generally associated with the crown of an unerupted tooth, and from that has three variants: follicular, follicular and extra-extra-marrow or peripheral. It is more commonly asymptomatic and slow-growing and progressive, is further characterized this lesion to be benign and low recurrences. This paper aims to present a literature review which will be illustrated by a case of adenomatoid odontogenic tumor, and this is located in the anterior maxilla. The aim is also to address their clinical, radiographic and histological features, in addition to surgical treatment of choice.
