Biomedical Engineering In vitro Bone Regeneration

Abstract

The Tissue Engineering is a multidisciplinary field that applies the principles of biological sciences and engineering to develop the replacement organs and tissues aimed at regeneration, with a consequent improvement of aesthetics and function. Thus, Tissue Engineering is facing the fundamental challenge of developing biomaterials and procedures that lead to optimization of regeneration. The biomaterials should possess requirements for their clinical application, and for that, the tests in vitro and in vivo are indispensable for the validation of new biomaterials or regenerative techniques which are crucial for Tissue Bioengineering’s advancement. This article aims to present a literature review on the main aspects of Tissue Engineering as well as on the importance of the development in vivo and in vitro and its ethical reverberations.
