This article analyzes the trajectory of the Museu do Índio/FUNAI, highlighting the evolution of museological documentation processes. Initially, it examines the criteria of the first museological works and the significant impact of Berta Ribeiro on the institution. An institutional turning point is identified with greater indigenous participation in museumization, exemplified by the exhibition "Time and Space in the Amazon: The Wajãpi". The expansion of these processes is explored through the partnership between FUNAI and UNESCO, qualification workshops and digital advances since the 1990s. Finally, the use of
Tainacan is emphasized for its recent impact on museum practices and the new possibilities it offers.
