Paul Maddern was born in Bermuda in 1962, of Irish and Cornish stock. In 1983 He graduated from Queen’s University, Ontario, with a BA (Hons.) in Film Studies. In 2000 he moved to Northern Ireland and in 2005 completed an MA in Creative Writing at the Seamus Heaney Centre, Queen’s University Belfast. He has completed a PhD. Thesis at the same university, which involved building a digital audio library of Irish poets reading their work. He is currently teaching creative writing in the Department of English at University of Leeds.
