Author’s slipping of a Ludus cartarum:process analysis of an auto-representative artwork.

Abstract

Analysis of process of creation of a kind of book-pack of plying cards, named of Isso sou eu?, made in 2008. It belongs to a research which theme is contemporary self-portraits in Visual Arts. My artworks unfix the general idea of self-representation as mimesis, the coincidence of the subjects (a same person doing the image and being represented), as well as the self-representation of a coherent idea of a person. A group of people gives me several images of memory, in a form of text, about when each one had met me. The contribuitions are re-arranjed and shaped as playing cards, which can be used as a book or a divinatory game. The form of each collaboration presupposes the removing of traces that specify me or any place. The lector that reads or handles can identify himself with several reported situations. The text treats about inconstancies of subject as author, narrator and as a character. I interlace considerations about thoughts of Lejeune, Colombo, Barthes, Foucault, Couchot and Giddens.
