Blood biochemical and height of intestinal vilosity of swine feed supplemented with probiotic, prebiotic and antibiotic
Abstract
The experiment was carried at the Swine Sector of the Animal Husbandry and Animal Nutrition Laboratory of the Center for Agricultural Science and technology of North Rio de Janeiro State University. 40 crossbred (Landrace x Large White)castrated male swine were used. The animals were fed with various types of feeds containing probiotics and/or prebiotics plus antibiotics as growth stimulants. Treatments used were as follows: T1) basal feed (no additives); T2) basal feed plus antibiotic (nitrovim); T3) basal feed plus Probiotic (Saccharomyces cedrevisiae); T4) basal feed plus prebiotic (mananoligosaccharid); T5) basal feed plus probiotic (Saccharomyces cerevisiae), plus prebiotic (mananoligossaccharid). Blood samples were collected for later laboratory analysis of both global and specific leukometry, as well as biochemical analysis. After slaughter small intestine (duodenum) samples were collected for analysis of the height of intestinal vilosity. In conclude the supplementation of probiotics and prebiotics no had effects on leukometry, biochemical analysis and height of intestinal vilosity of the swine.Downloads
