The pandemic crisis has led to a densification of the political organization of the cultural sector. In this sense, the elaboration of alternative images of the future on which to sustain new political practices acquires strategic relevance. Through a prospective exercise carried out in La Plata (Argentina) with representatives of different artistic disciplines and sub-sectors of the local cultural field, the modalities of functioning of the production, regulation and stimulation of symbolic production were addressed, seeking to identify basic agreements. The results show a high degree of agreement on the urgency of a structural reform of the mechanisms of cultural governance, while at the same time revealing some difficulties in imagining concrete devices for operationalizing these values.
