Self-portrait of an absence: exercitando a criação de máquinas híbridas imaginárias

Resumo

Utilizando o desenvolvimento da performance Self-portrait of an absence (2016) como estudo de caso, compartilho neste artigo algumas questões que considero relevantes e que fundamentam minha prática em artemídia e seus aspectos inerentemente transdisciplinares. A performance foi criada no contexto de uma pesquisa de doutoramento enquanto ferramenta metodológica e seu processo criativo revela as zonas intersticiais entre as camadas técnicas do conhecimento científico e as camadas simbólicas das experiências estéticas. O experimento também aponta para a desconstrução das relações dicotômicas entre teoria e prática, uma vez que as reflexões provocadas por ele foram essenciais na composição da estrutura e do conteúdo discutido na referida tese de doutorado. O presente artigo está estruturado em três partes: A primeira introduz um alicerce teórico sobre materialidade da artemídia e suas operacionalizações,  uma lente teórica que venho adotando enquanto artista, pesquisadora, curadora e educadora na área. A segunda parte descreve e analisa o processo criativo da performance e, a terceira desdobra algumas das descobertas significativas ocorridas através do experimento, especialmente aquelas relativas à estética da Artemídia e sua natureza híbrida.
