Abstract

The present study aims to assess the quality of work life of healthcare professionals in the primary care sector of the municipality of Candiba, Bahia. It is a cross-sectional, descriptive, analytical, and quantitative study. To achieve this, an observational research was conducted, involving data collection through a semi-structured questionnaire following the QWL (Quality of Work Life) model. The questionnaire was applied to 55 employees within the primary healthcare network of Candiba, Bahia. The following domains were analyzed: "Fair and adequate compensation," "Working conditions (safety and health)," "Utilization and development of skills," "Opportunities for growth and security," "Social integration within the organization," "Constitutional guarantees," "Work and its overall role in life," and "Social relevance of work in life." The collected data were analyzed using SPSS version 21 software, and compared with current literature. The results indicated that the domains of "Utilization and development of capacities," "Social integration within the organization," and "Social relevance of work in life" achieved higher averages and were considered satisfactory, while the results for "Fair and adequate compensation," "Constitutional guarantees," and "Working conditions" were unsatisfactory. Based on these findings, the implementation of interventions is suggested to improve the quality of life for these professionals, enhancing their satisfaction and consequently leading to better service for the population.
