Abstract

ABSTRACT

We report a case of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis after hospitalization for SARS-CoV-2 infection. In the literature, there are already described cases of patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, diagnosed before the pandemic, and who, after having COVID-19, evolved with progressive and rapid worsening of neurological symptoms. After reviewing the literature, we did not find a similar case. The present report contributes to the knowledge of the neuropathogenesis of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
