Abstract

Objective: a comparative study to analyze acoustically and verify possible alterations in the spoken voice during the pre and post-menstrual periods. Method: twenty-seven women between the ages of 19 and 39 years took part in the study. For acoustic voice analysis, recordings were made on the two days before the menstrual period and three days after the end of it. Results: the parameters analyzed showed statistically significant alterations between the two periods. Conclusion: it was concluded that hormonal changesduring this period significantly modified voice quality, although it went unnoticed by most of the participants.
