submetidos a tratamentos odontológicos utilizando isolamento
Independente do Nordeste (FAINOR).
insatisfação (“carinha” triste) acerca do isolamento absoluto durante o
tratamento.

ABSTRACT

Behavioral maneuvers for pediatric dentistry patients are of paramount
importance in clinical management. Since procedure for this public
can generate fear and anxiety like, for example, the absolute absolute
isolation using rubber dam and clamps in search of a clean and dry
operative field. Objective: of this study was to analyze the degree of
satisfaction of pediatric dentistry patients submitted to dental treatments
using absolute isolation after the behavioral management at the
Dentistry Clinic of the Odontopediatrics Department of the Faculdade
Independente do Nordeste (FAINOR). Material and Method: This
was a cross-sectional study with a sample of 40 patients submitted to
treatments using absolute isolation. A semistructured questionnaire
was used, with responses categorized as “faces”, expressing satisfaction
(“happy face”), indifference (“regular face”) or dissatisfaction (“sad

face”) about absolute isolation during treatment. The questionnaire
data were validated according to Buchanan and Niven. Results: The
absolute isolation was accepted by the children, since 70% of the sample
felt calm, since 60% would perform dental retreatment using absolute
isolation. Conclusion: Still with 32.5% of the children’s responses
of dissatisfaction were due to the clamp in the tooth, in this way the
isolation was well tolerated by them.

ER -
