do necessário a estrutura do dente pilar. Esses dados reforçam a necessidade

Purpose: Rest seat confection is an important step for the adaptation of removable
dentures, although many dentists insist on neglecting its preparation.
Therefore, this work of an interventionist nature investigated the
anatomical fidelity of the preparation of rest made by students of senior
graduate students in Dentistry by scanning the preparations and analyzing
the images. Methods: Twenty-four operators; 12 from the Public Faculty
(G1) and 12 from the Private Faculty (G2) were randomly selected for the
preparation of artificial teeth, one in the second premolar and the other
in the second lower right molar. Next, the preparations were scanned and
the images obtained were analyzed by a single evaluator through Mesh-
Lab software, to obtain the occlusal rests ’length and width. To define
an evaluation system, standard preparation parameters were pre-established.
Student’s t test was applied for intergroup comparisons (α = 0.05).
Results: There was statistically significant difference in premolar occlusal
rest width and molar length and width of the groups (G1 and G2) in relation
to the Standard value (p <0.001). However, statistically significant difference
in premolar length was not observed (p≥0,50) Conclusions: Most
of the preparations made by the operators differed from the standardized
value, showing a tendency to wear above the necessary structure of the
abutment tooth. These data reinforce the need for greater attention with
case planning and preparation of teeth in rehabilitation with removable
partial dentures.
}, number={3}, journal={Revista da Faculdade de Odontologia da Univeridade Federal da Bahia }, author={Vicente Calazans Neto, João and Felisberto Ribeiro, Caroline and Beatrice Dantas, Ananda and Andrade Meyer, Guilherme}, year={2021}, month={jan.} }
