Abstract

SUMMARY The effects of the increase of the concentrate level in the diets of dairy cows fed sugar-cane were studied. The experiment was driven in the Paulistinha farm, in Macarani - BA city, in the period of July to September of 2006. 16 cows crossbred Holstein x zebu were used distributed in four Latin squares 4 x 4. The concentrate increment provoked one increased lineal in the production, in the consumption of nutrients and in the variation of the corporal weight while the protein tenor in the milk and the alimentary efficiency had a quadratic behavior to the increase in the concentrate level in the diet, already the composition of the milk and apparent digestible of the nutrients didn't differ with the treatments. Showing that in spite of the treatments they affect not the apparent digestible of the nutrients and the composition of the milk, they are interesting, in the parameters of increase of the consumption of nutrients, milk production and the variation of the corporal weight.
