O patrimônio e a encenação das identidades: uma política cultural identitária no Pará (1995-2006)

Resumo

O artigo visa discutir as políticas culturais empreendidas no governo do PSDB durante os 12 anos em que esteve à frente do governo do estado do Pará. Busca-se compreender as imbricações entre o discurso identitário do “paraensismo” e as políticas culturais fortemente centradas em intervenções no patrimônio arquitetônico da cidade de Belém. Aqui se pretende analisar como a construção de um determinado entendimento do que seria a “legitima cultura paraense”, baseada em uma conformação identitária essencialista e exclusivista, apropriando-se do que se entende como patrimônio legítimo conforma um discurso que pretende silenciar as diversas outras manifestações identitárias presentes no estado e conforma-se como uma estratégia política de ocultamento de diferenças e de legitimação. The patrimony and the identity staging: an identity cultural policy in Pará (1995-2006) ABSTRACT: The aim of the article is to discuss cultural policies undertaken in the PSDB government during the 12 years he headed the state government of Pará. In this sense, the paper intends to discuss the relationship between identity and patrimony. It seeks to understand the interplay between the discourse identity of the "paraensismo" and cultural policies strongly focused on interventions in architectural heritage of the city of Belém. Here we seek to understand how to build a certain understanding of what are the "legitimate Para’s culture”, based on identity and essentialist exclusivist shape, seizing what it sees as legitimate heritage forms a discourse that aims to silence the many other manifestations of identity present in the state and shapes itself as a strategy of concealment of political differences and legitimacy.
