After a brief analysis about the probable rearrangements of the solidarity processes, we will present the discussions specific to the trends of Volunteer Associations organization, asking the following question: are the new social arrangements resulting from the changes observed recently in the contemporaneous societies an obstacle for the civic capital development, and consequently inhibitors of collective actions? We will discuss these issues by examining the Volunteer Associations trends, making a comparison between the realities of the developed and underdeveloped countries.

KEY WORDS: Corporate capital, social systems, third sector, social theory, and voluntary associations

Publicação Online do Caderno CRH: http://www.cadernocrh.ufba.br
}, number={30}, journal={Caderno CRH}, author={Fontes, Breno Augusto}, year={2006}, month={set.} }
